So what does being a PPA involve?
We have several employment options on offer, including being self employed, zero hours, guaranteed hours and Live in Carer
Self Employed:
- You will need to register yourself as self employed (we can help you to do this)
- You will be responsible for paying your own Tax and National Insurance (we can help you)
- You will need to be DBS checked and registered on the update service which you will need to pay for yourself
- Purbeck Personal Assistants will introduce you to private clients, who require individual support, which you can choose to accept shifts as and when you want to.
- You will be paid on the 1st of each month for shifts worked from the 18th of one month to the 17th of the next
- You will be paid £15 per hour for most clients with short visits and £13.50 per hour for supported living and sitting services
Guaranteed Hours:
- You will be guaranteed a minimum number of hours of work each week which will be calculated based on your availability to work.
- You can choose additional working hours if and when you want them
- You will always be paid your minimum hours even if we are unable to offer you enough work to meet the minimum each week.
- You will be entered onto the company pay roll
- You will be offered access to the company pension scheme
- You will be entitled to holiday pay based on your guaranteed hours
- You will be entitled to statutory sick pay if required (subject to qualifying rules)
- You will be paid on the 1st of each month for shifts worked from the 18th of one month to the 17th of the next
- Depending on experience and qualifications you will be paid between £12 and £13.50 per hour and be reimbursed for mileage travelled in between calls
Live in Carer:
- You will work one of the following shift patterns: 1 Week on, 1 week off, 2 weeks on 2 weeks off 3 weeks on 3 weeks off, 1 month on 1 month off, depending on the needs of each individual client and the intensity of care required
- You will be provided with a 2 hour break each day
- You will be paid between £900 and £1300 per week, depending on experience and intensity of care required
- You will be paid on the first of each month for shifts worked from the 18th of one month to the 17th of the next month
- You will enrolled on the company pension scheme
- There is also the option to work on a self Employed Basis if preferred
Zero Hours:
- You will be entered onto the company pay roll
- You will be offered access to the company pension scheme
- You will accumulate Holiday Pay
- You will be entitled to statutory sick pay if required and all qualifyinf criteria are met
- You will be paid on the 1st of each month for shifts worked from the 18th of one month to the 17th of the next
- You can pick and choose when you want to work by letting us know when you are available to work
- Depending on experience and qualifications you will be paid between £12 and £13.50 per hour and be reimbursed for mileage travelled in between calls

Personal Assistant (Domiciliary Carer)
We are seeking kind and caring individuals to join our team on either a full time or part time basis. Guaranteed hours can be offered depending on your availability.
Supervisory Personal Assistant
We are seeking an experienced care giver to join our team as a Supervisory member of our team. To primarily provide care to our clients, lead by example, supervise and mentor others as well as assisting with Care Plans, Risk assessments and new client assessments. This position offers an enhanced hourly rate of pay for Care Visits up to £14.50 per hour, Admin pay at £12 per hour and an additional On Call payment. The position can be part time or full time with flexible working hours
