So what does being a PPA involve? 

We have several employment options on offer, including being self employed, zero hours, guaranteed hours and Live in Carer

Self Employed:

  • You will need to register yourself as self employed (we can help you to do this)

 

  • You will be responsible for paying your own Tax and National Insurance (we can help you)

 

  • You will need to be DBS checked and registered on the update service which you will need to pay for yourself

 

  • Purbeck Personal Assistants will introduce you to private clients, who require individual support, which you can choose to accept shifts as and when you want to. 

 

  • You will be paid on the 1st of each month for shifts worked from the 18th of one month to the 17th of the next

 

  • You will be paid £15 per hour for most clients with short visits and £13.50 per hour for supported living and sitting services

Guaranteed Hours:

  • You will be guaranteed a minimum number of hours of work each week which will be calculated based on your availability to work.
  • You can choose additional working hours if and when you want them
  • You will always be paid your minimum hours even if we are unable to offer you enough work to meet the minimum each week.
  • You will be entered onto the company pay roll
  • You will be offered access to the company pension scheme
  • You will be entitled to holiday pay based on your guaranteed hours
  • You will be entitled to statutory sick pay if required (subject to qualifying rules)
  • You will be paid on the 1st of each month for shifts worked from the 18th of one month to the 17th of the next 
  • Depending on experience and qualifications you will be paid between £12 and £13.50 per hour and be reimbursed for mileage travelled in between calls

Live in Carer:

  • You will work one of the following shift patterns: 1 Week on, 1 week off, 2 weeks on 2 weeks off or 2 weeks on 1 week off, depending on the needs of each individual client and the intensity of care required
  • You will be provided with a 2 hour break each day
  • You will be paid between £900 and £1300 per week, depending on experience and intensity of care required
  • You will be paid on the first of each month for shifts worked from the 18th of one month to the 17th of the next month
  • You will enrolled on the company pension scheme

 

Zero Hours:

  • You will be entered onto the company pay roll

 

  • You will be offered access to the company pension scheme

 

  • You will accumulate Holiday Pay

 

  • You will be entitled to statutory sick pay if required and all qualifyinf criteria are met

 

  • You will be paid on the 1st of each month for shifts worked from the 18th of one month to the 17th of the next 

 

  • You can pick and choose when you want to work by letting us know when you are available to work

 

  • Depending on experience and qualifications you will be paid between £12 and £13.50 per hour and be reimbursed for mileage travelled in between call
